Living in New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Minnesota, and Oregon have all contributed to my love of place. My landscapes result from a desire to capture a place and moment completely. I recall air and atmosphere, sound and smell, when I paint. I enjoy watercolor because the medium has a life of its own - I respond to unexpected directions, making the process interactive and dynamic, enabling me to move away from detailed realism and strive to express a multisensory experience.
